Upper Secondary Sector
The Year 11 and 12 program is two years duration and offers students curriculum which leads to the issue of the Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE - Senior/Upper Secondary Qualification) as well as providing a pathway to a Certificate III Trade Qualification in one of the industry groups (Automotive, Building and Construction, Commercial Cookery).
The QCE is awarded to eligible students usually at the end of Year 12 and recognises broad learning options and offers flexibility in what, where and when learning occurs.
The pathway to completion of a Certificate III also gains credit points to achieve the Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE). Training includes up to 480 hours of vocational placement.

Certificate III qualifications available are:
• Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical Technology (Light Vehicle) • Certificate III in Furniture Making (Cabinet Making) • Certificate III in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery)
Entry Requirements
International student’s minimum requirements for entry are: • Completion of Year 10 studies or equivalent • Aged between 16 – 19 years • IELTS 5 – will allow an international student to take mainstream lessons in English
A review will be made following a student’s application to determine if further study of English under an ELICOS program is needed prior to commencement. |
