We are training the trade leaders of tomorrow!
The College is eager to establish positive working relationships with business and industry partners. Unlike traditional schools, the College has the flexibility to develop a training contract to meet the needs of business and industry partners and students commitments.
Interested businesses and industries are invited to be part of this great initiative and could benefit from a student who is tutored by experienced, qualified tradespeople.
Each student: ▪ Is provided with training in Construction Bluecard, First Aid and Safety Training before they commence with the employer (in the first 14 weeks of Year 11). ▪ Completes 1300+ hours of practical experience with the employer (during Year 11 and 12). ▪ Accelerates their School-based training in industry standard facilities at College with an excess of 816 hours trade training (during Year 11 and 12).
The College staff, in consultation with Industry Advisors, has specifically designed an Apprenticeship Model (at the Scarborough Campus) where students attend College for four weeks and then work for four weeks in the business sponsoring their Apprenticeship. This becomes a rotation cycle for the College year. The students also undertake trade-training from experienced, industry current trade trainers. The training undertaken by the Australian School-based Apprentice in the state-of-the-art facilities at the College underpins and complements the training being provided in the workplace by employers.
Have an Australian School-based Apprentice (ASbA) in your business all year round
Students rotate every 4 weeks... ... attend College for 4 weeks ...work with their employer for 4 weeks
Employers can take advantage of this model by signing up two apprentices, thereby having and apprentice working in their business all year round.
- The training for ASbAs at College is delivered at no cost to employers.
- Employers only pay for the productive time on-the-job for their ASbA.
If you would like further details about employing one of the College’s ASbAs, please contact Employer Services on 3880 4331.
Employers are invited to tour the College on Thursday mornings at 8:30am. Please contact the College on 3880 4331 to arrange a tour.
