Prime Minister's 2010 Vocational Prizes awarded
The Minister for School Education, the Hon Peter Garrett MP, has announced the winners of the 2010 Australian Vocational Student Prize and Prime Minister’s award for Skills Excellence in School.
This course is provided for people seeking to work in a breadth of Information Technology roles and for people that would like to create further education and employment opportunities.
Students engaging in an Australian School-based Traineeship in a college environment will be encouraged to complete as much of the course as practical in the two years at the College, but as this course is linked to a traineeship extra time may be required.

This qualification delivers the basic foundations and content for graduates aspiring to develop their skills and knowledge required to commence a career in information and communication technologies. Suited to students with little or no work experience it will develop an appropriate understanding to be affective in a modern business environment across a wide range of IT functions.
A Diploma of IT will qualify the student to work in a supervisory role or as a key functional member of a team within organisations. This program will allow students to demonstrate key business processes and skills identified as a basis for further career advancement in industry, commerce or government organisations. Practical emphasis is placed on understanding the areas of Communication; Multimedia and Websites; Ebusiness; and Management.
