Prime Minister's 2010 Vocational Prizes awarded
The Minister for School Education, the Hon Peter Garrett MP, has announced the winners of the 2010 Australian Vocational Student Prize and Prime Minister’s award for Skills Excellence in School.
This course is provided for people who administer a range of services and programs to individuals or groups of clients/students/employers to support them in planning their career and/or locating, securing and maintaining suitable employment.
This course is provided for people seeking to work in a business administration or management role and for people that would like to create further education and employment opportunities.
Students engaging in an Australian School-based Traineeship in a college environment will be encouraged to complete as much of the course as practical in the two years at the College, but as this course is linked to a traineeship extra time may be required.

This qualification delivers the basic foundations and content for students aspiring to develop their skills and knowledge required to commence a career in the business world. Suited to students with little or no work experience it will develop their understanding of the modern business environment across a wide range of business functions.
A Diploma in Business will qualify graduates to work in a supervisory or managerial role, or as a key functional member of a team. This program will allow students to demonstrate key business processes and skills identified as a basis for further career advancement in industry, commerce or government organisations. Practical emphasis is placed on understanding the areas of Administration; Advertising and Marketing; and Management.
Graduates will complete the program with skills and confidence recognised in industry to pursue employment in areas such as:
After achieving the BSB50207 Diploma of Business, graduates may undertake the BSB60207 Advanced Diploma of Business, other Advanced Diploma qualifications or continue further study at a higher level qualification in the Vocational Education & Training (VET) and tertiary sectors.
